Alumni form for 2017 passing out students

               

       The Department of Electronics and communication Engineering was established for imparting state of art knowledge into students and has been functioning since the beginning of the college i.e, from A.Y 1989-90 with an intake of 60 students. Presently, the intake of the ECE Department is 180 students. The department has a faculty strength of 45 well qualified, experienced and dedicated Post graduates with two Doctorates and some of them are pursuing Ph.D in different streams.

ECE department encourages students into postgraduate studies and prepares them for leadership roles in research and development. It offers two M.tech courses in Communication Systems from A.Y 2009-10 with an intake of 24 students and VLSI from A.Y 2011-12 with of 18 students. 

The ECE department has good infrastructure with 8 different labs namely Microwave Engineering lab, Microprocessor Lab, Digital ICs Lab, Communications Lab, Computer Lab, EDC Lab, LIC Lab, DSP & VLSI Lab. All the labs are fully equipped to cater the present day Advanced technology. Computer lab is fully equipped with necessary systems and softwares. The department consists of 10 well-furnished classrooms with e-class room facility and four staff rooms, HOD's room and department library with 1726 volumes comprising of different textbooks, magazines and competitive exam preparation books.

The Department has its own association called ISF (IETE Student Forum) and conducts many technical talks, seminars, quiz etc. There are 250 students in IETE student forum as members. Every semester at least two guest lectures are being arranged in addition to above activities. Our students participating in national and state level technical competitions and there by winning many prizes showing their hidden talents.

Every year our final year students are encouraged to write GATE, CAT, GRE, TOEFL & IELTS exams. Our students got all India GATE ranks every year. Our students  get Top Ranks in the university exams conducted by Andhra University. Students are encouraged to participate in State and National level technical contests. A National level technical symposium is being held in the Department during 1st week of march every year.

ECE Department has established R&D Cell and Electronics Hobby Club with a great support and motivation from Dr. T.Venkateswra Rao, Head Of the Department, ECE and  Dr. G.Samabasiva Rao, Principal. These Two Clubs intends to develop expertise in students to prepare them for taking up interviews and placements in core sectors of Electronics and Communication Engineering. These clubs will conduct Guest lectures and Workshops with hands-on sessions that will enable students to expertise on industry relevant concepts and skills. Hardware and software resources existing in R&D center will be utilized for the development of students as well as faculty.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

PEO 1: To produce Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates who have strong foundation in mathematics, Science and basic engineering with emphasis on problem solving with good practical breadth and deapth that cover multidisciplinary subjects enabling them to comprehend analyze complex problems and develop solutions.

PEO 2: To inculcate the students in professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, team work skills, multidisciplinary approach and ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.

PEO 3: To produce graduates who have the ability to pursue advanced studies and research in disciplines such as VLSI and Embedded Systems, Fiber optic Communications, RADAR and Microwave Engineering, Image processing, Speech Processing and Wireless communications.

PEO 4: To make the students aware of the economical scenarios and develop managerial skills and make them prepared to face the challenges from the global environment from time to time.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

 

At the successful completion of the program curriculum, students will be able to have

a)      An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering as appropriate to the field of electronics & communication engineering.

b)     An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.

c)      An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret the data pertaining to Electronics and Communication Engineering problems and arrive at valid conclusions.

d)     An ability to design an electronics & communication system that meets the desired specifications and requirements.

e)      An ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team.

f)       An understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security, and social issues and responsibilities.

g)      An ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.

h)     An understanding of the effects of the engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and societal context.

i)        Knowledge of contemporary issues like optimization of speed, power, cost etc. which influence engineering design.

j)        An ability to engage in life-long learning and an understanding of the need to meet the trends of the developments in the specific field of practice.

k)      An ability to use the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary to analyze electronics & communication engineering problems.

l)        An ability to become an entrepreneur or employee in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and related industry.

m)   An ability to work with good engineering and managerial skills under proper financial constraints.
