Sir C.R.Reddy College of Engineering is the first Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh sanctioned and recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This College is permanently affiliated to JNTUK from the Academic Year 2017-18.

Since its inception in 1989, Sir C.R.Reddy College of Engineering has been a premier institute for quality engineering education in Andhra Pradesh under the stewardship of its broad minded and magnanimous management. About Department

 

The Department of Computer Science was started in 1989 from the inception of the college. The department has an intake of 120 with a lateral entry intake of 10%. The department has well qualified staff and well equipped laboratories. The department has a well equipped lab with computer networked and configured with different network services like DNS, FTP, DHCP, KICKSTART, NIS, NFS & Mail servers. The labs have platforms like WINDOWS-NT, NOVELL NETWARE, SCOUNIX, RED-HAT LINUX, FEDORA and equipment like line printers, color laser printers, DVD WRITERS & SCANNERS.

The software available are TURBOC, TURBOC++, VISUAL STUDIO, ORACLE ENTERPRISES EDITION, D2K Windows based, NOVELL NETWARE4.11, SCO-UNIX, RED-HAT 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 8.0, 9.0, ORACLE 10g on LINUX Enterprises version and Rational Rose software.

The department consists of splendid 8 computer labs with latest configuration of P-IV systems 110nos and 3 Compaq Proliant ML 330 servers, 2 IBM-E servers with xenon dual processor with RAID 0,1,5 levels are used for lab purpose to cater the need of CSE labs as per the syllabus. All the systems in the laboratory are installed and networked with Redhat Linux and Windows operating systems.

We have a club called CLASIC - CRRs Lustrous And Surmounting Intellectuals of Computer Science a student body conducts Interactive sessions and training programs frequently with eminent personalities from educational institutions and industry to enlighten the students on the latest trends and development in the I.T industry. Our students have taken up several projects for NIC, OIL PALM, and for different government departments.

Our students are well placed and has achieved good results in the various competitive examinations like GATE, GRE, TOEFEL, CAT, and has an ALUMINI working in various companies like IBM, INFOSYS, DELL, SATYAM, WIPRO, GE Capital Bangalore etc.

Our students at present acquired jobs in companies like IBM, WIPRO, CONVERGYS, SASKEN, VIRTUSA, INFOSYS, HCL, TCS, CARITOR.

About Department

 

 The Post graduate department of management studies at Sir C.R.Reddy College of Engineering was started in 2007. It has a two – year full time M.B.A. programme, approved by AICTE and affiliated to Andhra University. This department aims at producing quality management professional to the Nation. Its quest is to prepare managers that are professionally competent, ethically conscious and socially responsible to cater to the present day needs of the business and the society.

 The objective of this department is to develop exemplary Individuals both in profession and in society. The emphasis therefore is not only on academics but also on the overall development of the individual. To ensure this the student is exposed to a rigorous training programme in circular and co-curricular activities.

There are 8 Faculty members in the department who are eminently qualified and experienced representing all major streams of management disciplines. The department is a composition of the well experienced and energetic youth.

 So far the management has incurred Rs.6 lakhs to purchase the books, Rs.18 lakhs to purchase the computers and 5 lakhs to purchase the furniture equipment.

 From the Inception of the department with the co-operation of the management the department is conducting workshops, seminars, guest lectures, Industrial visits etc., to promote academic excellence.

To promote nonacademic skills the department is encouraging the students to participate in co-curricular activities. The students actively participating in different competitions conducted by State level and National level Institutions and bringing many laurels to the department.

About Department

 

 

 

 

First Year Engineering Department (FED) formerly known as Science and Humanities Department was initiated in the year 1989 with the inception of the College. It offers Engineering education as a pleasant pursuit with preparatory courses and introduces innovative practices for laying the foundation in engineering study. The department has dynamic and qualified faculty of basic sciences and humanities such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental science and Communicative English. This Department will take care of the academic works of all branches of I/IV B.E./B.Tech courses and the department provides concept oriented subject knowledge through high quality Teaching supplemented with practical training. The intake of students in the first year course is 955. Seventeen sections are made with  66 students in each section.
 

The First year Engineering Department (F.E.D) is running successfully under the guidance of  HoD Dr Sk. Sadik carrying 20 yrs of teaching experience.

About Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been functioning since the inception of the College in 1989. The present intake is 90 students in First Year  with 10% lateral entry  in second year. A new P.G.Course M.Tech(Machine Design) was introduced by the department during the Academic year 2010 - 2011. The Department has 24 Teaching Faculty members. Out of this 07 are Doctorates. The remaining staff members are M.Tech Degree holders and well experienced. They are from reputed Institutions. One staff member has authored a Text Book on CAD/CAM. Average experience is more than 12 years. The department also has 13 experienced and qualified Non-Teaching staff to assist and help the department in day to day conduct of Practical classes and maintenance works.

 The Department has excellent Laboratory facilities, Work-Shops, Drawing Halls & Spacious class rooms established with a capital investment of Rs. 122.6 lakhs so far. The department has added a new Mechatronics laboratory to its state of the art Laboratories at a cost of 3.15 lakhs and CAD/CAM laboratory with an investment of 36.02 lakhs.  A separate new CAD Lab for M.E. (Machine Design) course with 20 P - IV systems at a total cost of Rs. 5 Lakhs was established.

 In the process of upgrading the Strength of Materials Lab, the Department has obtained a grant in aid of Rs. 6,00,000/- from AICTE, New Delhi under MODROBS Scheme. A Pin on Disc Wear and Friction Monitor (Ducom, Bangalore), Inverted Metallurgical Microscope (Deewinter, Italy), Double Disc Polishing Machine, Electric Muffle Furnace with Digital Temperature Controller and a Digital Electronic weighing balance were procured, with the above grant in aid. The department has also obtained Rs. 20.4 lakhs from AICTE, New Delhi for a research project on Nano Composites (2012 – 2015). To augment the research in the Department, a Planetary ball mill (Retsch, Germany), Digital Micro Hardness tester (Daksh, Indore), Electronic Tensometer – PC 2000 (Kudale, Pune) were procured with the support of the above funds. A Salt smoke spray test chamber and a Vaccum Stirr cast furnace are also in the pipe line of purchase.

A Research Centre was established with the above equipment, to investigate various problems in Natural fibre reinforced polymer matrix composites and Aluminum based metal matrix composites / Nano Composites. This was inaugurated on 25.01.2014 by Dr. G.S.N. Raju, Vice Chancellor of Andhra University, and Visakhapatnam. 

Many of the students are pursuing P.G. studies in reputed institutions in India and abroad. Students are encouraged to participate in State and National level paper presentation contests conducted by various technical institutions. Many of the students in the department have participated in such activities. Counseling of II/IV, III/IV & IV/IV B.E./B.Tech. students is regularly conducted by the department staff members to monitor their regularity and academic progress. 

 The Department of Mechanical Engineering has established a tradition of employing a large number of graduates in many reputed organizations of core industrial sector. Further our students are also placed in IT companies and multinational companies.
