Sir C.R.Reddy College of Engineering is the first Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh sanctioned and recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This College is permanently affiliated to JNTUK from the Academic Year 2017-18.

Since its inception in 1989, Sir C.R.Reddy College of Engineering has been a premier institute for quality engineering education in Andhra Pradesh under the stewardship of its broad minded and magnanimous management. About Department

 

         Information Technology is the most flourishing and extremely pervasive Discipline that is witnessing an unprecedented Innovation in Technologies for Communication, Computation, and Interactivity. The Information Technology Department in SIR CRRCOE started its journey in the year 2000 with an intake of 60 students. We now have strong Undergraduate Program with an annual intake of 180 students.

         The Department of Information Technology is committed to excellence in Teaching, Research and provides the right echo system for nurturing the budding professional skills of students. The Department has 21 well experienced staff with 4 doctorates and remaining with M.Tech qualification and Department equipped with state-of-the-art Laboratories and provides enhanced Learning Facilities for students, to engage in Continuous Learning and Research. The students are imparted with Industry Relevant skills, which help them to get placed in world-class Organisations and for further excellence throughout their Professional careers.

         We, at the Department of Information Technology inculcate a sense of pride and confidence in our students, to face the challenges of the ever-changing Technological Innovations. The Department strives not only to make the students Tech-savvy, but also to groom them as humane citizens of the society, who are going to be the inspiration for future generations. We, as a team rededicate ourselves to take the Department of Information Technology to further heights of success and glory. We have top class students who are consistently getting placed in several product based companies like TCS,Accenture,Cognigent, Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys, Tech Mahendra and Lava, etc.

         The department always maintains the required number of faculty as per the norms stipulated by the statutory bodies. The Department is headed by a doctorate and 3 other Doctorates with 17 other senior faculty members with M.Tech Qualification. The faculty is a perfect blend of Academicians and Industry professionals having different specializations in Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology to impart their expertise through diversified courses of the B.Tech program.

         A good number of faculties are attending the conferences/workshops etc., to enhance their quality in academics and to get themselves acquainted with latest technological trends and students are encouraged to participate in Workshops & Techfests to update their technical abilities. Course files and lab handouts are supplied to the students to facilitate them overall idea about the course they are going to study. Electronic teaching facility such as LCD is being extensively used in addition to Lecture method in both class rooms and Labs. An exclusive counseling session is included in the Time-table, in which each faculty is allotted with 20 students. Students are counseled in these classes where solutions are pertaining to their academic and personal problems provided.

         The Department has modern laboratories to serve the teaching and research needs of the students and faculty of the Department. CM’s skill excellence centre sponsored AWS Lab established in the department for giving extensive training on Cloud Computing& Android technologies. All the Computers are networked and configured with different network services.

      The labs are having various platforms like WINDOWS-NT,  Red-hat LINUX, FEDORA and equipment like Line Printer, Color Laser Printers, CD-Writers, Photo Copier And Scanners. The software’s available are TURBO C, TURBO C++, Windows-NT 4.0, Sco-Unix,LINUX with Latest versions, LINUX Version 10.10, ORACLE academic alliance & MSDN academic alliance with tools and IBM-Rational Rose.

      The Information Technology department is well equipped with 130 computers with latest configuration and is networked using latest servers.       Department Library for the utility of the students & staff of the Department. The library consists of 515 titles and 1760 volumes to meet the requirement of the students in addition to the Central Library.

       About 80% of the eligible candidates are getting placements with 4.0 to 4.5 Lakhs/Annum as average package and 7.5Lakhs/annum as highest package. The Remaining students pursue higher education in India & abroad through GATE and GRE. In the year 20-21, 75 students selected out of 72 eligible students.CRT Training for placements and GATE coaching will be provided to the Students by providing Internet facility with a dedicated bandwidth of 240 Mbps.

       Every year the college conducts National level TECHFEST to explore the Technical and Presentation skills of the students. The college provides financial assistance to the students to take-up minor research projects. Training is provided to the students for Microsoft certification and other similar professional certifications.

About Department

 

     

      Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) offers under graduate (B. Tech.) course in EEE and a post graduate (M. Tech.) specialization in Power Systems and Automation and is permanently affiliated JNTUK, Kakinada Andhra Pradesh, India. Department of EEE was started in the year 1994 with an intake of 60 students and subsequently enhanced to 120 students. The Department offers M. Tech. specialization for an intake of 06 students.

       The Department has well qualified and full-fledged faculty, activity associated with research work and have published a number of papers in National & International Journals, Conferences and also have interaction with reputed institutions. The Department is headed by Prof. A. Srinivasa Reddy.  The average experience of a teacher is more than 10 years and the maximum experience is 30 years. The Department also has experienced and qualified non-teaching staff to assist and help the Department in day-to-day conduction of practical classes and in maintenance works.

       The Department is spread over an area of 3250m2 which includes 9 core laboratories and a computer centre in a total laboratory plinth area of 1057 m2 with an expenditure of Rs. 8278661.83. State of art Licensed Software such as MATLAB, PSCAD, & ETAP are available in the EEE Department. The Department has well-furnished class rooms, e-class room and all faculty are provided with personal computers in staff cabins and net facility.

       Apart from the college central library a well furnished Department Library is also available. The Department Library is well stocked with more than 643 titles with 2602 volumes of text books. University question papers, Class test papers along with solutions, Project records and manuals for all lab courses, in-plant training reports, workshop and seminar CD’s are also kept in the Department Library for staff and students reference. The college subscribed standard International Journals and Indian Journals for EEE. Courses are subscribed/ licensed for accessing through “INDEST-AICTE” Consortium’s IEL online.

      To nurture students and bring out their creativity every year TECH-FEST (National Level Technical paper Contest) will be conducted for students in all thrust areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Apart from the paper presentation contest, technical events like spot competitions in “C”, technical quiz and project exhibition in various fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering are also conducted. 

       The Institution of Engineers (India) Students’ Chapter of EEE Department actively conducts co-curricular and extracurricular activities that are necessary for overall development of students and is chronicled news letter every year in the Department. Industrial tours and guest lectures are part of our curriculum and regularly arranged by the Department. Counseling of students is regularly conducted by the Department to monitor their regularity and academic progress.

About Department

 

     The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established to impart state- of-the-art knowledge to students and has been functioning since the beginning of the college, i.e., from FY 1989-90, with an intake of 60 students. Presently, the intake of the ECE department is 180 students. The department has a faculty strength of 35 well-qualified, experienced, and dedicated postgraduates with 8 doctorates, and some (16) of them are pursuing Ph.D. in different streams.

        The ECE department encourages students to pursue postgraduate studies and prepares them for leadership roles in research and development. It offers one M.Tech course in VLSI from FY 2011-12.

       The ECE department has good infrastructure with 8 different labs, namely the microwave engineering lab, the microprocessor lab, the digital ICS lab, the communications lab, the computer lab, the EDC lab, the LIC lab, the DSP lab, and the VLSI lab, All the labs are fully equipped to cater to present-day advanced technology. The computer lab and VLSI lab are fully equipped with the necessary systems and software. The department consists of 10 well-furnished classrooms with an e-classroom facility and four staff rooms, a HoD's chamber, and a department library with 1726 volumes comprising different textbooks, magazines, and books for competitive exams.

        The department has two active associations called ISF (IETE student forum) and IEEE student branch and that conduct many technical talks, seminars, quizzes, etc. There are 250 students in the IETE student forum as members and 70 members in IEEE. In every semester, at least two guest lectures are being arranged in addition to the above activities. Our students participate in national and state-level technical competitions and won many prizes, showing their hidden talents. We strongly believe that these associations pave a path to showcase the hidden talents of the students.

       Every year, our final-year students are encouraged to write GATE, CAT, GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS exams. Our students get all-India gate ranks every year. Our students get top ranks in the university exams conducted by Andhra University. Students are encouraged to participate in state- and national-level technical contests. A national-level technical symposium is being held in the department during the first week of March every year.

       The ECE department has established an R&D cell and electronics hobby club with great support and motivation from Dr. T.Venkateswra Rao, Head of the Department, ECE, and Dr. K.Venkateswara Rao, Principal. These two clubs intend to develop expertise in students to prepare them for taking up interviews and placements in the core sectors of electronics and communication engineering. These clubs will conduct guest lectures and workshops with hands- on sessions that will enable students to gain expertise on industry-relevant concepts and skills. Hardware and software resources existing in the R&D center will be utilized for the holistic development of students as well as faculty.
